Hi, thanks for checking in at the Nutrition Kitchen.  As a personal chef, I have for many years had the privilege of enhancing people's lives by helping them with eating well and redeeming time for themselves and their families.  At this point in my career I am focusing on also helping them achieve maximum health and wellness.  A few years ago I was approached by a personal trainer who was looking for a good nutritional system to help his clients really achieve their goals.  In the process of designing and refining the Nutrition Kitchen for him I also attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where I studied dozens of dietary theories.  I continue to keep track of the latest nutritional research, and the Nutrition Kitchen is reflective of my commitment to bring the best of mainstream nutritional science into your own journey of wellness.

My personal goal in life is to try to make sure that every day I have done what I could to add value to other people's existence.  I know from study and experience that the right nutrition can add years to your life and life to your years, and that certainly qualifies.  Whether you want to lose weight, deal with diabetes or other chronic disease, or just eat healthier, it would be my privilege to help accomplish that for you as well.

12/22/22 Update

I have retired from producing the Nutrition Kitchen at this point.   I have also created an online course describing how it is that I've been creating complete nutrition for clients, it can be found on Udemy under Nutrition Kitchen: basics of cooking for busy people.

If you want to take the course and need any resources to create food for yourself, please get in touch and we can talk about menu planning, recipes etc.

Be well!

What is it, and how does it work?

The food that comes out of the Nutrition Kitchen is what I call "metabolic meals,"  utilizing primarily lean proteins (with some seasonal variations), organic vegetables, healthy whole grains, healthy omega fats, and a minimum of dairy and sodium.  Each week I create a five day menu with an eye toward maximizing flavor as well as health, with a nod to cuisines from around the world.  The menu will include breakfasts, lunches, and dinners and you can order whatever you would like to fit your needs and lifestyle.  The menu will be posted here a week in advance on Monday, and you can order what you need by end of the day Thursday.  On Friday you will receive your confirmation, and delivery to your refrigerator will be on Monday by 6 pm, so your meals will be ready for you to start your week with metabolic goodness.  A variety of snacks are also available to help get you over the hump between meals.

FAQ

What does it cost?

Most of the resources available on the Salubris website are on a "what do you think it's worth?" and "what can you afford?" basis, other than the Nutrition Kitchen since I actually have to pay for the food and help, etc. We'll see what the future holds.

Dinners are $15 each, Lunches $10, and breakfasts $5.  A complete nutritional package for one would add up to $30 per day, or $150 per week.  Snack packages for 5 days are $10 each.  Minimum order is $100.  Double the protein portion is available for $1 each Breakfast and  and $2 for lunch and dinner.  Double the vegetables is available, when they are not integral to the meal, at $1 per serving.  Delivery charges are $30 for orders  between $100 and $150, and $15 for orders over $150.  Orders are due by Thursday evening, and deliveries are on Monday between 4 and 6. The menu will specify your selections for each delivery day.  Pick-up can also be arranged at my kitchen at 1505 S. Winchester blvd. in San Jose on the delivery day, or the next day if need be.

What is the overall calorie count?

Current nutritional science is diminishing the role of counting calories, but the  basic menu will average 1,300-1,500 calories per day for the entire package, exclusive of snacks or extra portions.

Where do you deliver?

Currently I deliver in the south bay area, within approx. 10 miles of the borders of San Jose.  Outside that area is available at an additional charge.  You can also arrange to pick up your food at my location on Winchester blvd. in San Jose.

Can it be customized to meet my personal needs?

Yes, to a degree.  You can always pick and choose what you order, of course.  If you're gluten free or sensitive to dairy, that's pretty easy because there is very little of either.  For other modifications, get in touch and I'll let you know what I can accommodate for you.
